Wow what a wonderful weather we've been having at River View and what a sweet relief it has been having those refreshing swims in the River Nidd.
The joyful squeals from children braving the cool water were the perfect invitations for older wallers to abandon boots and jump in too.
Unfortunately the gorgeous weather was not without a downside.
Harvest came early this year, forced by the dry weather, and yielding a half crop because the grass only grew to half height.
With other farmers starting to feed the livestock the hay already because the grass isn't growing, we are in the unusual position of hoping for more rain. Let's hope for a mild winter so the fields can be grazed then!
